The usage friction of SiYuan Note is high for me. Maybe a dozen pages of English documentation. You gotta hit “Translate Page” and cross your fingers for every extension’s README. The only social posts I find are from me.

I’m not saying Siyuan is perfect — or maybe it is I can’t read Chinese so I don’t know what the reviews say — but it’s got all the note stuff, backlinks, tabs, and split views too. Takes copy and paste from Logseq more graciously than Obsidian that’s for sure.

Reading a project’s Code of Conduct and it’s one sentence that boils down to “be nice.”

Makes me surprisingly angry. We don’t need nice. Nice got us in the mess we’re in today.

Code of Conduct should explain expectations, boundaries, and consequences.
