Finding out that Stable Diffusion was trained on images from Pinterest (Where Artist Credit Dies™) seems so poetically appropriate.

Artists: don’t let someone haggle you down over this either. “I can do myself free in 30 seconds” “Fine go do that.”

And gotta be honest. Even though I have a visceral reaction to the stolen art generator, I also recognize it’s a tool and artists should learn how to use tools that interest them. So go make AI art but pls more interesting than painterly celebrity slashfic.

Reading a project’s Code of Conduct and it’s one sentence that boils down to “be nice.”

Makes me surprisingly angry. We don’t need nice. Nice got us in the mess we’re in today.

Code of Conduct should explain expectations, boundaries, and consequences.
