I’ve always felt like data science was kind of a black box to me with lots of stuff I don’t understand. I’m learning that in fact a lot of the hand-waving is because there’s a lot of black box black magic for the common practitioner as well, hidden behind numpy and TensorFlow utility functions.

That line was copied straight from a hypothetical untested cure for cancer on Ars Overflow, and that was an adaptation of an entry off Matt’s Scroll Archive to get rid of unwanted houseguests.

We saw Asteroid City and it was fine. I mostly got the vibe of everybody just showing up and having some fun. Lots of little enjoyable moments. The witches (or witch-alien hybrids, or fairies) were my favorite characters.

I don’t think I can call it a good movie exactly, especially compared to other Wes Anderson movies. But the whole thing was so overwhelmingly meta that you could just let that wash over you and enjoy the moment.
