It’s got tons of errors because it’s mostly a dump of Hugo content, and doesn’t do anything interesting like pagination or tags, but it’s still notable to me that Jekyll 4.3.3 on Ruby 3.3.0 builds and serves that (mixed Markdown and Asciidoctor) content in 2.4 seconds, within .5s of Hugo’s time on the same.

Curious to find out how much worse it’ll get if I add interesting work.

Set myself up with a proper sourcehut account for a generally available but not Git(Hub|Lab|ea) repository host.

@profoundlynerdy I am minutes in, so can’t give you a proper eval. First impressions are good. Supports git and hg, encourages but doesn’t require project-oriented collection of repos, bug tracking and mailing lists if you want them.

Kinda minimalist UI, but after the last decade of change at GitHub I’m okay with that.

@foolishowl @earthshine @hukaulaba back in my TTRPG days playing Traveller was when it really started to register in my head how big a whole-ass planet is, and how terrible nearly every sci-fi story I’d read or watched was at conveying it.

Except Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.

@foolishowl @earthshine @hukaulaba I mean HHGTTG handwaved like all the rest, but it was very deliberate and lampshadey in its handwaving, reminding you constantly about the full scale being ignored.
