If you don’t mind proprietary cloud-hosted, #Amplenote is a pretty darn good note taking and task management app. Almost as good as Taskwarrior for the tasks.

And now there’s a native app for Windows, Linux, and macOS, with plans for local note storage in 2024. And table formulas, too! This pleases me.

It’s got tons of errors because it’s mostly a dump of Hugo content, and doesn’t do anything interesting like pagination or tags, but it’s still notable to me that Jekyll 4.3.3 on Ruby 3.3.0 builds and serves that (mixed Markdown and Asciidoctor) content in 2.4 seconds, within .5s of Hugo’s time on the same.

Curious to find out how much worse it’ll get if I add interesting work.
