Sat down and gave Subnautica a real try and turns out it’s “oh god is that really the time?” fun.

@sushee I use it as a personal wiki for journaling and note taking. Haven’t directly exported from it yet — I tried a page and it took my current app theme for the PDF.

The graph feature isn’t necessary but it’s so dang pretty and can provide insight when you’re looking for it.

Not FOSS, but I don’t care as much these days. Zettlr and Joplin are great Free equivalents.

Probably the weirdest thing about working for Nokia is half the executive video posts look like one of my Dad’s cousins dressed up fancy.

Which is entirely possible now that I think of it. Finland ain’t that big.

Trying to be nice but I can’t help the fact that default IT mode is cranky, even for home IT.

No, nobody’s doing or saying anything wrong. Just me going “i hate machines NO DON’T CALL SOMEONE ELSE I’LL KILL THEM MYSELF”

And of course that’s when the woodpecker shows up to remind me that nature can be just as annoying as machines.

Using DataGrip, and it’s fine. No really. It’s good. I just —

Is there a decent cross-platform SQL GUI that isn’t JDK-based? Heck I’d consider Electron-based at this point.

Somebody tried calling me on Teams but it had just updated and sound didn’t work.

That was close.

Coworker marveled at my advanced age. Thought I was in my 30s.

Which is an impression I’ve always given, apparently. Back to the deputy dropping me off with mom for shoplifting, and telling her I was six going on 32.

Well that’s unnerving. This painting is dated 1984. This is the kinda thing adults did to millennial and gen-X children.

In the rather awkward position of my Windows partition being better for the Linux web dev than my Linux partition.

Mostly a bunch of coincidental stuff boiling down to “that’s where I’ve been working the last few weeks” but still.

The fact that WSL2 & the native Linux install are just equivalent enough that the bigger factors are project-specific rather than “oh god I/O is so slow” or “why TF won’t the language compile?”
