Not just a coding test but a timed coding test.

Just finding all the ways to spike the anxiety aren’t they

The timer on the timed code test starts the second I click “accept” so I’ve spent the entire morning making sure all my core tasks for the day are done and now better heat up lunch and put on some lo-fi.

Instead of — you know — reading the tasks, then doing all the above while thinking through a delicious crunchy code problem that I could solve more effectively without a stopwatch.

They: Select technologies you are interested in

Me: yes

Codefinity onboarding process instructing you to select technologies you are interested in, and letting you know you can choose more than one option. Half a dozen disparate options are listed, from embedded to desktop to cloud scale. I have checked all of them

I had a couple pre-Google FitBits (Surge, then a Charge) and although I wear an Apple Watch now there are aspects of the old FitBits I still miss:

less deeply hooked to my phone (I have to tune notifications & just take my Apple Watch off when Messenger chatting because desktop -> cloud -> phone -> watch notifications)

Incidentally I opted for Perl. Felt good. Scored 94%. More affronted by that than the 33% I scored in the practice test.

Allowed a couple strangers in, and they’re from some kind of sourpatch kids faction.

Beat one of my colonists nearly to death (apparently the colonist made fun of his open-mindedness?) then nursed him back to health. Burned down half the base (but only half because we’d replaced half the wood with stone on arrival of two pyromaniacs), then nursed all the firefighters back to health.

Nobody knows how to clean though.
