@y0x3y That’s more my fault for not keeping the Pi up to date. Though Raspbian is back at .14 or so, the syncthing apt repo includes fresh builds for ARM.

Windows ate my Trident (BSD) USB stick, so I ended up settling on pop_os for the Linux drive.
Might try Trident or other BSD again later, but via VM first so I can learn my way around.

Installed chocolatey to install git and gcc to build go-sqlite3 so I can try my Go thing direct on Windows rather than through WSL.
Though of course cgo needs gcc5, so ended up downloading and installing TDM-GCC

I like the Python 3.8 assignment operator. At the same time, I’ve been amused as Python gradually gains features whose absence was initially presented as a selling point.

oh hey cool I knocked about six and a half minutes off by putting all the database stuff in one transaction. A 71,136 row transaction.
@pnathan ooh I’ll see if crc32 helps! That’s still by far the biggest chunk of CPU time.
“Single-file database” is a self-imposed (and admittedly arbitrary) constraint. Was also pondering bbolt, though I’d need to write my own query functions. Probably won’t worry, since the db stuff is around a minute now.
I haven’t been tracking #inktober close, but I had to do a #drawing for “pattern.” That’s kind of my thing.
Been playing with both Go and Perl 6 because apparently when I was asked “consistency or flexibility” my answer was “Yes. But not at the same time.”
