Does any of this enlighten, entertain, or otherwise please you? Please consider a Tip. Every little bit helps!

Hi there!

Who I am

I’m Brian Wisti, frequently described as random and geeky. I guess that’s sort of like a brand. Most of my social network bios go with “50-something pasty he/him; not tall.”

Where I am

I’m in and from the United States. Mostly the bit in the Pacific Northwest, around Washington State’s Puget Sound. Lived in Seattle itself for about twenty years. Seattle got too expensive in today’s unpleasant job market, and then we got priced out of the cheaper suburbs too.

We moved to Tucson Arizona in 2024. I think I like it here. A stranger said “Hi” to me the other day, without prompting. I said “Hi” back. Wild.

What I do

I enjoy writing code, usually small useful or tools or fun toys. ADHD has me exploring and finding other people’s cool stuff all the time. I go through stretches where I love writing about code.

I also draw and sometimes knit.

Wrapping all this up is a fondness for personal knowledge management, so I can remember the cool stuff I saw and what I was doing the other day. This site is part of that. Random Geekery serves as an anchor for my ADHD brain. Every Post is drilling an idea into my head by sharing it with others. Every Note is a hook to recall how I was doing that day. Every Gallery entry is a little bit of pride in progress at creating. I share for a little bit of public accountability and so that maybe my notes and obsessions can be helpful or at least entertaining to someone else out there.

ℹ️ Note

When folks ask what you do, they often mean what kind of paid work you do.

That’s more of a Now question.

How to reach me

Why a /hello page

I wanted something more than a contact page: a little about me along with the contact info, you know? /hello seems to work for that.
