This may be good time to reexamine @macports - that thread shows user-hostile attitudes from homebrew folks (but not analytics feature dev)

I’ll likely switch back to @macports myself in the next few days.

Been using Homebrew several months & missing port tools badly.

My pre-bed thought on this fuss is you use homebrew, but stay informed on behalf of friends that are too busy. I’ll use macports. I like it.
