A little more fun with this #drawing. Interesting to me how the sketchbook feel from the matte cover makes a sketchy style more comfortable.

@Agrippa that’s true, they do make good stickers.

Or I can start showing it off because it’s a clear sign I can afford to eat and that I have a comfortable friendly relationship with good food.

You know, either way.

Random conversation in work chat has me wondering if Rage should be added as the fourth Programmer’s Virtue (after Laziness, Impatience, and Hubris, for the un-Perlish among you)

@genehack I can see a couple angles:

  1. raging at the people who are trying to fix things (Rage, Rage Against The Dying Of The Status Quo)

  2. indiscriminate rage that can’t differentiate between what works & what’s broken, so tries to tear it all down (the rage of the eternal new dev)

  3. the sort that sees the difficulties between users & machines, and decides the users are what they should rage at (Only a commie mutant traitor wouldn’t trust The Computer)

Mind you, I’m thinking more a Terry Pratchett sort of rage than the kind that usually gets headlines.

Though TBH the other kind is seen often enough in devs, just like False (Impatience|Hubris|Laziness)

“The Pragmatic Programmer” was my answer to the “favorite programming book” interview question for quite a while.

Looking forward to getting the 2nd Edition codex.

And to be even more clear about the implied point: let’s keep the neo-Malthusian “make sure the least worthy die first” out of our survival math.

Not gonna lie I was pretty proud of myself with that one. #nobirb

tweet: “What’s your favourite/most effective placebo for combating low energy levels?” My answer: “Pure Morning” (a song by the band Placebo)

Oh lord GoodNotes makes it easy for me to write tiny, which is wonderful and awful.
