Well I’m pretty happy that at least one other person had this thought for the quote tweet meme going round, and that I thought to search.

Yep. I make a point of frequent little breaks so I don’t get too lost in the solipsism of tech.

I end up at an annoyed halfway point: most of what we do doesn’t matter, and what does matter is horribly broken.

This is simultaneously energizing and demoralizing.

And don’t be afraid to try new ones periodically. Maybe you’ll switch. Maybe you won’t. Maybe you’ll be like me and go “yep I guess I also use that editor now.”

Mostly enjoying this round with Emacs. I tell you what though: with emacs configuration * python configuration * docker configuration, I’m not having a great time with Elpy.

@rabcyr yes it is. I usually go with cross-posting Mastodon -> Twitter via https://crossposter.masto.donte.com.br/

hackers.town: 2019-11-25 Mon 20:13

@rabcyr DMs are totally messed up on Mastodon anyways, but I get that.

And it threads if you tell it to, text > 280 characters is truncated with a link.

I have mine forward my public toots and my replies to my public toots, with an exclusion for #nobirb

dangit I need to spend less time with Crystal. Python tests failing for 15 minutes because I forgot about parens on a function call.

Or maybe I need to spend more time with Crystal.
