I suppose it’s the Ministry paradox. By setting aside a single day to celebrate Christmas, or Halloween, or April Fool’s, we don’t aspire to it any other day. Makes the one day come off a bit fake.
Some of us are fools year round.

Remarkable how Slack continues to find new ways to annoy me. Today — and by “today” I mean it worked fine two days ago and doesn’t this morning:
“no longer flagged as a window with a caption” which means I can’t group under a tab with Groupy.

I mean seriously. Thanks to my poorly optimized brain wiring, any hiccup in my expected flow no matter how trivial can throw me off for the entire day.
Big big part of why I stick to the terminal mostly. Fewer moving parts unless I put them there.

Watching a meeting presentation. Chat DM asking for a little thing.
“No big deal,” I think. Obviously it becomes a whole side quest and I miss all presentation content.
Long story short I just hooked gcal to slack so I can ignore DMs in meetings and they’ll know why.

@technoid_ Right! But I’ve started using “flow” rather than “routine” because I make frequent shifts to keep my brain happy. Routine — the way typical folks define it — is another hue on the my nightmare spectrum.

Haven’t been to the O’Reilly site since they stopped selling PDFs, but went back just in case for a book I really wanted. Now I’m mad all over again.
Not only have they stopped selling books — can’t even find a dang price for the “learning platform” they pivoted to.
