Eight hours of sleep. Such a miracle! Course I think I mentioned we’re staying right in the Fremont Experience, so that required waiting until around 2am to fall asleep.

I’m having some fun despite myself, but I am also very much looking forward to getting home.

My only intentional use of Emacs at the moment is assorted Org mode tools, but even at that level it’d sure help to get more comfortable with it.

Got myself a copy of Mastering Emacs to fill in a few of the gaps between C-h t and wherever I’ve been at for the last few years.

If I’m using this is a micro-blog type thing, I need to think in single paragraphs more. Anyhow, we needed to decompress so I spent some time puttering on layout here.

BTW we compared notes on Tournament of Kings

  1. might’ve been more fun if we were 6yo
  2. the corn on the cob was ahistorical but worse it was gummy
  3. all in all, the biggie: some of those horses looked stressed to our (unprofessional) eyes

And just a free-floating annoyance: why do so many presenters, MCs, etc want me to convince them I’m happy to be there?

“MAKE SOME NOISE”

[wooh]

“THAT’S NOT GOOD ENOUGH”

Well too damn bad we ain’t paying our money to address your fragile self-esteem.

@lown honestly it’s not too bad once or twice but we’re in Vegas so we were urged on in so many contexts today.

My poor overworked brain eventually refused to emote further.

Having me some fun with https://randomgeekery.life. I’d like to get a lot more done, but what I’ve been missing most is comments so I think the next step is to start the base of that with http://utteranc.es

Sometime tonight maybe because we’re back in the world in a couple minutes.

In the Bellagio. Alas, no sign of Sparkle Pony.

Kinda wish I’d thought about us maybe hanging out here a little bit, since I know where the side tables are. Could’ve brought my laptop.

@maddiefuzz it is! They change the installation routinely, so that was a stop I had to make.

@maddiefuzz I’m sort of lucky in that casinos hit my ADHD / autism overstimulation buttons long before any gambling urge can set in.

@thegibson @maddiefuzz apparently they’re all Caesar’s now? Some sort of consolidation.
