Thing about even aging with this brain is everything happened so long ago and also it’s happening right now and there’s this thing you gotta work on but also you should probably stop worrying about that HS English class essay.

I want coffee. She wants chocolate. So we go into the store. Naturally the second we step in, I’m looking for the chocolate and she’s searching for coffee.
so sweet it makes you a little sick

@acousticmirror @kaushalmodi@mastodon.technology org-roam-ui is amazing and part of why I keep org-roam in my field of view for future plans.

She’s having meeting agitation and I’m trying to tell her to claim network interference, that we’re driving the house through a tunnel, dogs are twitch streaming Elden Ring, etc
but she just ignores my genius advice

@jgaskins Obsidian’s the most transparent about being files on your hard drive.
Filesystem folders are reflected in note paths, note names must be legal on your OS, stuff like that.
That said, I’m making very simple use of a very fancy plugin (Breadcrumbs) to specify a page as “up” in page properties, and that gives me logical structure w/o messing with paths.

@jgaskins screenshot of what that “simple usage” looks like for yesterday:

@jgaskins Hey if it works it works. You’re halfway to implementing Joplin there.

@jgaskins Right there with you. I’m only settling on Obsidian for this iteration because I’ve puttered with it off and on for a couple years now. It’s a reasonable baseline, and I know which plugins bring it closer to what I want (biggies are calendar, periodic notes, templater, dataview, breadcrumbs)
I’d say Logseq is more useful out of the box — sort of an org mode light — but for my particular use case, the flat markdown of Obsidian’s working better.

And suddenly, no electricity.
Not like I was being all useful but still.

Well it’s been fun but it’s almost 10pm & phone is at 19% now so guess it’s time to lie down and stare at the ceiling for a few hours.
