Important die hard ultra hardcore gamer update: Euro Truck Simulator 2 works pretty good on the 14" MacBook Pro.

@rekiwi 120 or so

Today on the phone is much more relaxed, with no doom scrolling and posting the occasional note that may eventually get cross posted to the bird site or maybe not.

Gonna listen to Nick Drake. Maybe sip some hot cocoa.

@Lyn it is indeed! Wanted to wait until my Twitter 15 year mark (yesterday) to uninstall from phone. Still using the site but there’s enough going on at other places lately that I don’t feel the need to keep it open at all times.

@Lyn Welcome, BTW. It’s not perfect out here, but there are plenty of good options.

The cats have not yet tried cake. I’m minimizing risk that they’ll try it today.

Something — possibly Satisfactory but not for sure — triggers some chain of events when played on the PC that requires unplugging the motherboard from the PSU and plugging it back in.

I think the connector does not get firmly in place. No click.

Heard the news. Adjusted my keyword mutes. Fastened my seatbelts.

@nova I’ve a few folks who may only know to find me on Twitter, so I’m leaving the account up until I know they’re settled elsewhere. But I’m locking it, because I sure as heck don’t need any new attention there.

So yes if you can, put the stuff you know is gonna piss people off under a CW. Or just I dunno talk about something else if that’s an option.

But people are people. If you want to spend a little less time being mad at your friends because they’re having a panic attack, try some keyword mutes in your Mastodon preferences.

@david Yes, though I haven’t tried playing the game on the Linux side since this happened (on Windows today was only the second time I’d played since setting up a different hardware config)

Installed WezTerm on the MBP. Making it feel like my idea of home, bit by bit.

@EricCarroll So much better perspective than “don’t star posts, that doesn’t show up as engagement!”

right yeah that’s the point

So thank you for the better summary!

hackers.town: 2022-11-19 Sat 22:56

@beowuff iTerm2 has been my default on macOS for years, but WezTerm’s been my default everywhere else this year. It lacks the polish and OS integration of iTerm2, but sometimes that’s nice.

@rekiwi the first time bumped my schedule for ordering myself a MacBook Pro 14”. The second time has me spending a lot more time on that laptop.

Steam library’s smaller on the Mac but what works is buttery smooth.

@david I might have to try something like that. My suspicion has been that it’s a mundane physical issue like fans shaking the connector, but that wouldn’t explain why the computer stays on until its nightly sleep.

I lack the motivation to find out right now, but I’ll keep it in mind next time!
