Fire up a Web app which I forgot was via Edge, which pops up a window introducing the new Bing and telling me to chat and create. When I’m at a search engine I don’t want a chat I want a selection of search results I can evaluate for fucking relevance, which all the search engines are getting wrong lately.
AI for when your company needs to offload the labor cost of willfully misunderstanding what I need from your service.

Way back when, “did you mean” was useful. Sometimes I did a typo. But I write code. Some of it is in Perl. And the more the search engine team assumed they knew what I meant better than I did, the harder it’s been to find results.

@maddiefuzz I’m using my fancy note-taking tools more and more frequently as documentation dumps, things like extracting the AWS docs into Trilium nodes. Search engines forgot how to search engine, and doc sites are so damn “helpful” they’re completely useless to me.

@Wrewdison It’s a great little creativity spark for sure. But holy hell the idea that anyone thinks this holds answers just goes to show that big paychecks and / or fancy titles have no correlation with intelligence.
