@FerdiZ It looks like a power plug of a variety I’m unfamiliar with — very complex! Viewed from such an angle that it looks like a distant view of a Empire Strikes Back style cloud city.
Or it could be that.
Power plug was my first and persistent thought because of colors mostly.

the software application that could take your numbers and convincingly rationalize any conclusion you desired? That left a deep impression on future programmer me and I swear to god it is modern AI tech in a nutshell.

@TheDarkHorse no kidding. Well, they keep making TV shows for it so I guess not completely ignored. Then again I haven’t watched any of those shows because I didn’t want them to screw up the perfect rendition in my head.

@gizmomathboy No, I made an executive decision to avoid them. Nobody’s adapted Douglas Adams work convincingly, not even Douglas Adams. Especially not Douglas Adams. So I take the frozen snapshot of inspiration that is the books and savor them.

@pdcawley @gizmomathboy I encountered the books first (living in southern Idaho at the time, not exactly a hotbed of anglophilia) and didn’t encounter the radio series until years later. After the TV show made it to local public broadcasting! I agree that it is most excellent, but the books had crystalized in my head after so many readings.

Gotta say, though — Sprig makes Go text templates dramatically — well, not good. But dramatically less unpleasant.
