@akamran I suspect that’s exactly it. Most cookbooks seem intended for those far too virtuous to sully themselves with the plebian details of time/budget constrained food preparation.
Besides, the peasant women in our family killed anyone who learned too much about their recipes. So there’s that too.

Having a note page called “Backlog” for the things I’d like to get back to (books, courses, knitting projects) has knocked a whole lot of stress from the thinking half of my brain.
Eventually the list will get big and make me sad, but for now it’s nice I can offload remembering it.

And yeah an explicit backlog is helpful because there’s also stuff I don’t care if I get back to finishing up and this way I don’t have to keep them all sorted in my head.
