Jabber / XMPP still exists, of course. But it kinda doesn’t matter. Google embraced it, funneled the enthusiasm into their chat platform which they — being Google — eventually killed, and left XMPP hanging.
This is why old gray eyebrows are raised and wallets are checked any time a big name enthuses about the Fediverse.

Starting myself a #VRising private server with the castle getting .1 blood essence consumption and .1 decay because I like the idea of the mechanic but don’t trust myself to play every single day.

Hm. #VRising does not provide pause functionality. Ordinarily a show-stopper for me, but I’m kind of enjoying the game’s overall vibe. I’ll keep it around.
