Ah the smell of cheap firecrackers and the sound of more expensive ones filling the neighborhood. Orange hazy sky, and from the sirens, fire department’s been busy today.
Jumpy Dog’s refused to pee outside all evening — bathroom rug is in the wash cleaning up from the inevitable consequence of that reluctance.
Cats aren’t scared, but they look about as annoyed as me.

Okay well Jack’s just trying to convince me that the china cabinet is just a perfectly ordinary relaxing spot to chill out and he’s fine, but his nervous glances out the window at every boom suggest a different motivation.

@onelson neighborhood fireworks have been steady since 5 or 6 pm. 11 now with no sign of stopping.
