@calcifer I never got into document databases. Mainly because the second my needs got more complex than a key-value store I went straight for SQL.
I do play a little with columnar data because I can see the utility of spreadsheets-with-code. Not as persistence mechanism though.

There was a Seattle-based chain called Bon Marché. Most called it the Bon.
It was merged into a larger chain in 1989, which announced in 1999 that the Bon Marché would become Macy’s at some point. People kept calling it the Bon.
Macy’s switched local branding to “Bon Macy’s.” People kept calling it the Bon.
Macy’s officially wiped out all Bon-related branding. The downtown store was a Macy’s. People kept calling it the Bon.
The downtown Macy’s store closed. (Old) people still refer to the Bon Marché building in 2023.
Call Twitter / X / birbsite whatever you want. The name you use may outlive Elon.

@corbden @hashitout I’ve heard the faux French Targét from folks well outside the Bon Sphere, so I think it’s just a generally catchy variation.
