It’s weird how brains work! Every time I split things into multiple vaults I end up with a primary vault and a bunch of neglected domain vaults.

But I’m tracking a timeline more than topics. “What was I doing last year? Hm interesting. Six months ago? Interesting. Five minutes? Oh yeah. Hm. Interesting.”

I’m gonna have to use the API and scrub through my following list. A Mastodon update a while back ended up making many mastodon dot social accounts appear suspended from this instance — which means I don’t see their toots or replies — and no blanket fix tool has been provided.

Rather than curse my admin with death by 1,000 “I found another one” I’ll see which ones appear suspended via the API and send that list.

VS Code trying to do too much for me these days. Making Sublime Text look pretty darn good in comparison.

I mean honestly Sublime Text is already pretty darn good as a friendly extensible text editor, but the fact that it only does what I tell it is pretty compelling compared to VS Code trying to be ever more “helpful.”

So I found 160 accounts in my followers and following listed as suspended. Every single one from mastodon dot social.

Pseudo-random sampling of click-through-to-profile suggests the relevant ones are those with last activity around the magic date of 2022-11-10, but to do it right I’d want to query the actual server.

oh and my click-through suggests many of those with no last status just have no recent activity, with last toot from 2018 or earlier.
