@matthiask @carlton oh heck yeah. Thanks for figuring this out! ProseMirror in Django is a thing I’ve been dreaming of as well.

hackers.town: 2024-03-13 Wed 10:13

@thegibson well it’s not often anyone says that around me

hackers.town: 2024-03-13 Wed 10:16

@enobacon Nice. One less line I’ll have to remember.

One of those days where you’re two-fisting it with coffee and chamomile

actually “super calm” flavored packet in water but “coffee and chamomile” feels more alliterative

Making sure I am prepared for the next three hours.

That’s me, forcibly turning every coding test into a pairing session.

One interviewer asked, as one of the “getting to know you” questions, about new tech, tools, frameworks, and domains I was interested in. They were taking notes.

That poor soul had writer’s cramp by the time I was done, and I closed that bit with “and I could go on. I did mention the ADHD.”

Nervous energy was sufficient that I was standing (bouncing, really) at my standing desk for the entire three hours. Usually I switch back and forth.

@Quinnypig which wouldn’t be the same kind of depressing if “AI” wasn’t such a shitty replacement at each of those stages.

@erosdiscordia yes, and it’s called PIP / PBP Mode on my ridiculously wide monitor.

What I don’t know well is brands. Mine’s a Samsung 49" G9 Odyssey. Obnoxiously expensive but OTOH it’s outlived two jobs now.

#Valheim day 186: I have invented the bedroom.

EDIT: come to think of it, as far as my Valheim time is concerned, I have invented the room.

@ptmcg @webology @trs I’ll be skimming through those for sure! Current parsing subject is Logseq Markdown, which is a whitespace-sensitive outline format.

But first I’ll just learn how to do the basics.

hackers.town: 2024-03-13 Wed 18:33

@ptmcg @webology @trs yep, indentation for structure. Tabs indicate node level, and two additional spaces are used for continuation lines such as (but not just) node properties.

node props is what’s tripping me up in Lark, mostly because much of my parser generator knowledge has rusted through in the last decade.
