Building a transitional site on the fly in Hugo. Delete whatever I have. Copy my site template. Export public pages from Logseq. Grab any missing pages from the original site sources. Run Hugo.

Now that I’ve got my code smart enough to identify paths that come from Logseq and paths that come from old sources, I can phase out the transitional site part and do all my damage in the contents/ of an otherwise stable site structure.

Gathering some historical bits of my first site for notes, and came across this pre-reader (from 2003) RSS project which wasn’t too bad actually. Some nice use of early CSS.

@eb Ever since the first time I looked at the first Internet Archive copy of my site, I’ve tried to make sure the site still looks roughly as intended even in snapshot form.
hackers.town: 2024-03-30 Sat 19:28
@eb That’s fantastic!

My blog is mostly 25 years of me having an intense and long running argument with myself.
hackers.town: 2024-03-30 Sat 22:35
What’s funny to me now is if you told me then that I had a blog I would have argued vehemently against the very idea.
I know this because somebody told me I had a weblog, and I argued vehemently against the very idea. I just had a “news” page with dated entries that I updated sometimes multiple times per week.

In further retrospect and with how of-the-moment those notes were, it was more like a tumblelog.

@amydentata Disney owns every Spiderman slashfic we wrote. Sorry it’s just how multiverses work.
hackers.town: 2024-03-30 Sat 22:47
@amydentata (also also see that TV show with the fairy tale characters that all were just live-action updates of Disney cartoons)
hackers.town: 2024-03-30 Sat 22:57
@rgegriff @amydentata At the current Spidey reboot rate, seven years.

@rgegriff @amydentata non-negligible chance pregnant Spider-Man gets a cameo appearance in a Spiderverse movie within two years.
