Swapping out to a different keyboard format (vanilla TKL → Model100 split keyboard) to engage the restless, fidgety part of my brain so I can focus on the day’s tasks and reduce inclination towards emotional dysregulation.

Apple hardware and software has made prominent appearances in my paycheck-earning computer years, back to OS X 10.0 Public Beta. I write code on macOS hardware roughly daily. I used to know enough AppleScript to automate workflows and treat my iMac as a creepy talking alarm clock.
I don’t think I’ve ever used iWork.

I see “Apple power user” and ponder that time I installed Linux on a click-wheel iPod to play Doom in glorious black-and-grayish-white, the multiple Linux distros I installed on my iMacs and MacBooks, getting my workspace set up with Fink, then DarwinPorts, MacPorts, Homebrew, but never learning how to use any desktop application beyond terminal and browser, and —
maybe that RealNetworks interviewer had a point when he said I was too much of a hacker.
And the Microsoft interviewer. Though he at least phrased it as a compliment.

This stretch of unemployment has been bad, but it hasn’t been “sniff enough of your neighbor’s wifi traffic to crack their authentication so you can get online to apply for jobs” bad, so we’re not at post-dot-com-crash-trough-period yet.

My modded #Minecraft progression continues. Have gone from trying all the modpacks, to having favorite mods, to sticking with modpacks that have those mods, to grabbing modpacks that don’t and adding them, to grabbing modpacks that don’t and adding them and removing mods that get in my way. Coming up with my own modpacks is inevitable, but not yet.
Anyways, FTB Builder’s Paradise 2 + Xaero’s Minimap + Xaero’s Map + Better Advancements - FTB Chunks (because it bundles JourneyMap)
