Betteridge’s Law applies, because no it’s not the AI Boom. It’s the likeliest endpoint for any “tech industry” startup or initiative.

“One anonymous Microsoft engineer told CNBC that the company had “cut corners” in its AI work to deliver projects at speed (Microsoft didn’t comment). Engineers at Amazon, Google, and an unnamed government agency had similar complaints.”

One of my online hobbies used to be doing reverse search on posted images to find out what artist’s work had been grabbed without credit or possibly even awareness of the original work, load up on trivia about that artist, and infodump to the world.

With generative AI, the first part is technically easier because the answer is “most of them.” Loading up on trivia is a bit more difficult.

Throwing in my vote for uv as current preferred #Python dependency management tool.

It only requires the tiniest adjustment to my existing pyenv + pip-tools workflow.

I know a whole lot of stuff. I’m always learning more stuff.

I just need to figure out how to convince potential employers that “knows a whole lot of stuff and is always learning more stuff” is a combination of traits they need to hire, as opposed to “knows the exact stuff we are using on this project.”

Getting more comfortable with React by learning which bits I’ll be complaining about, remembering it’s based on decade-old assumptions about JavaScript, and then complaining some more.
