@grmpyprogrammer (hopefully, but uncertainly given federation behavior) before anybody else chimes in with “Doom” or “Spacemacs” – yes they’re real close but if you’ve got serious decades of Vim muscle memory it takes about a minute and a half tops to hit “why doesn’t this combo work like it should”
Course you can make your own evil binding sure sure now you just need to learn Emacs, ELisp, whatever variant of configuration your chosen starter kit uses, and still learn the Emacs modes, expected Emacs bindings (for understanding blog posts) and your kit’s mappings for those common bindings.

@grmpyprogrammer Haven’t messed with that one, though at this point it’s unlikely. I ended up learning enough Emacs that I use its common bindings when sitting in front of that editor.
Easier to learn one new editor at a time than two.

I mean not right now. My M1 MBP in true Apple fashion starts breathing heaving like it’s jogging up 30 flights of stairs if I play a game using any kind of resources, so the misophonia kicks in and I stop after 15 minutes.

@jnkrtech I consider the very low ambient light in our neighborhood a blessing for stargazing, but I haven’t catalogued all the critter sounds yet and the dogs aren’t as cautious as they could be.
I’m sure I’ll mellow once I can distinguish between javelina, coyote, snake, and gecko (ok maybe not as worried about the geckos).

@jnkrtech It has been amazing honestly.
I routinely hear distant coyotes and relatively nearby snakes (though as a kid I learned to recognize the “uhhh” slither-curl that comes before a “dude!” hiss so I back us off quick), saw a family of javelinas the other night, there’s a couple owls that nest nearby, hummingbirds and monarchs all over the place, and a squirrel.
Saw my first scorpion this morning, but that was right as it had been grabbed and hauled off quick by a gecko for its snack. geckos++
There’s a lot more wildlife in Tucson than I expected and a lot less of it is hostile. To me anyways.

@jnkrtech Yah I’m less worried about the javelinas as-is than I am about Bouncy Dog barking them into unpredictability.
I’ve seen one roach, outside. I assume there are others, but the geckos probably keep them in check.
And yeah, our cats would do exactly the same with a scorpion.

I have two main goals with the project: data-assisted processing of my notes, and having better control over published notes than I was able to manage with Logseq’s JSON export.
Yes I did in fact start writing the code to parse my complete live Logseq graph, stuff it into an entirely different graph database, process that, and save public items as source files for a SSG
Because I got tired of the two extra clicks I needed in order to build my site from a Logseq export.
