@WuMargaret it’s like a more benign version of “caustic,” which I’ve also used as a mood modifying description.

@WuMargaret there are evaluations specifically for masked autism now, which was how I got my own assessment.

Testing has improved, but it’s not great. Less likely to describe general autistic traits, more likely to describe a narrow window of trauma-based reactions and coping strategies.

Which — you know, that’s valid — but it’s not the only way to be autistic.

Civ 7 is coming out soon and I’m not sure I care. It’s a weird feeling, given my obsessiveness over 2-4 and even Civ:CTP

@WuMargaret Yep yep. I had better luck with teachers than most, and I’m always grateful for that. Also Mom, who was my best advocate for a “normal” path when faculty alternated between wanting to hold me back or push me ahead.

@movation Apparently what gets me going is survival sandbox games, especially if they can be modded.

My main fixation for the last year has been Minecraft, but Vintage Story and (vanilla) Valheim’s in there too.

@movation I enjoy it (also Factory Town, Settlement: Survival, Stardeus, and all the usual management / automation / action spreadsheet suspects) but at the moment they don’t get my extended hyperfocus push.

Playing with Vitepress because h*ck it why not

hackers.town: 2024-08-02 Fri 22:39

It looks like most of the other Vitepress sites out there, but there’s a fair amount of flexibility to change that.

As JavaScript SSGs go, Vitepress seems straightforward to set up and not too painful to customize.

Not sure I’d want to use it for my site because of the whole SPA thing. I still get hits from lynx user agents. Course they might be messing with me but still. Also the 20-30 second build time is great for JS but contrasts sharply with 1-2 seconds with Hugo.
