@uncanny_kate I’ve softened on nostalgia recently mostly for folks who want to enjoy memories of when they were healthier, and what they enjoyed at the time.
But for me personally? Nah. My joke line has been “I hate the past. That’s where I keep all my mistakes.”

So then I discovered the FTB teleport commands like /rtp, found a nice spot with an abandoned MineColony, started setting it up, teleported back to /spawn, took a nap, then realized I forgot to /sethome back at that colony.
26km and 14 days (with a couple side quests) to get back.
Had to install Xaero+ to zoom far enough out on the map so you could see.

Hm. Skimming the Logseq Discord and they’re talking about making the DB the main source of truth, not the files. The DB that they’re still working on.
This is not a great idea, unless you’re the wizard behind Trilium or really good at service architecture. I know they aren’t the former, and persistent issues with official Sync suggest they’re not the latter either.
This is part of why I was using a timer on my graph processing. Use a Go (or other compiled / fast language) backend like SiYuan does, have a little more structure to your files, and things can fly with text files as your base.

@spinningthoughts Oh heck, I didn’t mean to throw any shade at the Logseq developers. It’s a big project, and they’ve done better with their available resources than I would have.
But going DB-first has a big impact on the portability of the notes. They might do a great job! I’m just not completely sure I’ll be following along for that ride with Logseq as my primary.

@masukomi I’m fond of loading everything into an in-memory database, querying it as needed and discarding when done with the session. But I need to remind myself that’s a processing solution, not a persistence solution.

@rubenerd I still miss the sigils. For all the other kinds of clarity in programming languages outside the Perl family, it takes noticeably longer to figure out a variable’s context.
