@toolsontech yes but also no. With books and whitepapers, the PDF works better as I intend to read, highlight, and extract on my own.

With specs and RFCs, they’re usually so dry I’m not going to retain it if I just read. A PDF would be dead weight.

The main serendipitous insights I want to extract is where they may intersect notes I already have. Mentions and the Graph Analysis plugin are a big part of my processing phase.

@toolsontech (also, Web search engine quality has degraded so much in the last few years that I prefer having reference resources close at hand and readily searchable, even if it’s not particularly convenient for my note manager)

@spinningthoughts just the plain bulk of it, I think. It goes slow at the indexing stage.

Bouncy Dog’s reactivity coming to good use this morning, as he scared the living daylights out of some javalinas rooting in the neighbor’s box garden.

Those peccaries gave serious “oh h*ck it’s the cops run frank run” energy. I have heard they are crabby but do not like loud noise, and if nothing else Bouncy Dog is a provider of very loud noise.

@spinningthoughts This is a manual experiment, just seeing if I can do it. The personal production flow is a script I’m working on that parses well-structured docs, splits them up into digestible sections, and adds those sections as Markdown to the PKM.

@packetcat @lmorchard and the Apple apologia was more tolerable to me when they were the embattled underdog (give or take). They got bigger and he kept acting like they need defenders.
