a day when the au and the adhd are locked in mortal combat

hoping it ends with them making amends and then a big bollywood musical number

Trying to stay tuned into the meeting while @IamMrsGeek is over there in my peripheral vision on an exercise machine.

It’s

uh

distractingly jiggly

#PKM suggestion: if your notes take or start from a journal form, and you like to log highlights of the meeting, and you have a daily recurring meeting?

Don’t bother tagging it or even linking to a dedicated “Our recurring meeting”. End of the year you’ll have a couple hundred hits on that tag or that page, and unless your knowledge goal includes “how many times did we have that meeting” you’re not getting anything useful out of two hundred hits.

Just jot it down in your day and let search be magic later if needed. Fold highlights into a weekly summary if that’s how you roll.

This message brought to you by flashback to notes from a gig with some 500 items tagged “meeting.”

@jmac asking for clarification: was he doing “my hand is a phone” or “hang loose”

hackers.town: 2024-09-24 Tue 12:21

@jmac thank you!

You of all people I should know to be precise in their emoji usage.

Well that’s a little vague.

@WuMargaret That is indeed Barry! He’s almost social these days!

Almost.

hackers.town: 2024-09-24 Tue 16:03

@WuMargaret I’m afraid to click in and find out.

But probably, yeah.

@crowbriarhexe @WuMargaret when all the normal paths of self-transformation fail it’s time for magick

I’m used to periodic snap-back to familiarity from my brain as I explore new tools and learn new domains, but the “task management” neurons just snapped all the way back to Taskwarrior.

Interesting.

Bouncy Dog shouting violence at every pup in sight while Jumpy Dog whines “ignore him he’s just a cranky marshmallow let’s play!”

@genehack part of why my weekend project has been processing JSON-Schema to Markdown for local notes. Even site search on the docs site for the library in question tends toward frustration.

@tankgrrl EndeavourOS (Arch-based) with NVidia RTX 3060 Ti on X11 (system gets fritzy with Wayland pretty much only with games now, but that’s enough to hold me back)

oh heck

Skimming the Steam wishlist and looking at updates. A recent update for Abiotic Factor includes misophonia-related settings to adjust the volume on sounds that trigger angry lizard brain.

@leberschnitzel @tankgrrl I don’t recall for sure. I tend to play a lot of the same games, so one or more of Valheim, Planet Crafter, No Man’s Sky. The 2D games did fine. Oh but modded Minecraft was not having a good time.
