@daviddelven loading time is slower for me on my MBP than it was on the PC Windows partition, and yeah it wasn’t great on Windows.

@zvavybir I’m not sure how I feel about that
(joke)
But yeah if I could just get the paperwork in, I’m getting evaluated for autism as well. I mainly tagged with what I know.

Typed and deleted some snark. Was gonna link to the “Fuck Christopher Columbus” video. But here that’s just preaching to the choir. Let’s try a different mood.

@kusuriya @thegibson @revengeday trust me on the history here, the fruity drink mix would be the final act of a cult.

currently very “let them fight” about the Rails guy and the WordPress guy

@Johannab it doesn’t happen every time, but sometimes I manage to get the phrasing just right so I and other people understand what I just said.

@dys_morphia @munin the fun part is the interpretation wiggling can go so far that you’d be describing motivation for the exact same behaviors.
Sort of like “respect” (treat like a person) vs “respect” (treat like an authority)

A few years back I decided that the only Web-based interface to data that I liked was Datasette https://datasette.io/. It was just SQL (SQLite specifically) it was quick, it was extensible, and it was quick. Do I repeat myself? Well, it’s relevant.
Because using Grafana is the classic data-and-UX intensive Web app experience that gives me flashbacks to using Microsoft Word on a PS/2.
Except Grafana takes longer for the cursor to catch up with the keyboard.

Does the Datasette solution scale? Of course not. But that keeps it from being applied in inappropriate contexts.
Contrast with a tool that scales in pure data numbers but takes so long to round-trip a request that by the time autocomplete finishes the select list I forget what I was looking for.

@jacob Zola’s nice! I have some frustrations with the CommonMark constraint, but templating is so much nicer than in Hugo.

The fifth time I crashed the web interface of my enterprise data dashboard, @IamMrsGeek suggested food.

Remembering that time I mixed up an insult and confused my target so much they were effectively paralyzed for a full minute.
They: (flinging cheap insults)
Me: “You kiss my mother with that mouth?”

@maddiefuzz it definitely helps the delivery that especially in conflict situations I sound like a disappointed burnout junior high English teacher.
So this would have been an absolute burner of a follow up.

@jacob mainly that I’m always missing description list syntax.
But I’m a little too spoiled by rst & asciidoc to really enjoy any flavor of Markdown, so take that thought with some salt.

@cinebox the fact that I was only 40% sure which FOSS creep the CW would be referencing

Processing the day’s notes for tomorrow prep instead of pushing through, since that’s definitely been having some diminishing returns.
