There’s a pattern that’s weird to me: when I finally get a decent amount of rest my brain often feels slightly more wonky? Like it’s trying to make this a recovery day.

Alas, no.

Anyways good morning!

(or OpenDyslexic or whatever your preferred font is today)

Note that it needs to be a font you’ve got installed on your system.

Also it doesn’t persist across sessions, so you’ll need to retype it every time you start Slack

Also also it’s a global font replacement including for monospace, so maybe use a preferred monospace font (Fantasque Sans Mono for me)

For no particular reason, remembering one slightly frustrated manager’s assessment of my skills that I’m the one to go to “if you need a complete and well-documented solution.”

Why frustrated? Because there’s nothing in that assessment about acknowledgment of calendars.

Anyways I need to go proofread a Notion page.

It might be your hyperfocus target, but that doesn’t mean you’re any closer to completing / resolving it.

Sometimes you crave the cool rush of slamming into a wall repeatedly.

No.

Go do something else for a little bit.

@lmorchard It’s cool I’m ready for 2004. Got my playlist around here somewhere.

@jnkrtech not sure you missed it exactly

WordPress guy been doing his spiral. Rails guy posted about WordPress guy. WordPress guy posted about Rails guy.

That’s all I know. Almost literally, since I’ve gone out of my way to not clutter neurons with the whole broslap of it all.

@genehack It’s a very specific path of eras, but yeah similar. Ready for “write your own PKM?”

anyways

@brohrer I boosted, because other than the (understandable) Chromium thing, I quite like Vivaldi and wouldn’t hate hearing why I’m wrong to.

@aburka more productive than talking to somebody else that’s for sure

hackers.town: 2024-10-15 Tue 19:46

Anyways yeah my brain says ten or eleven hours is enough work engagement.

@ColesStreetPothole I much preferred its immediate predecessors in theme, “Sliding Doors” and particularly “Me, Myself, I”

@munin always tied to an event, though it’s been long enough that sometimes it takes a moment to recall the full moment.

The sense memory is what lingers longest, so it’s usually the hook I use to grab memories of events.

hackers.town: 2024-10-15 Tue 20:44

@ColesStreetPothole Yeah it was a weird recurring motif.

Of those three what-if movies, Me, Myself, I is my favorite by a long shot.
