applied Apple update.
Had to disable Apple Intelligence again. Spotlight is not currently including applications in its search, despite the category being checked.
Are they letting AI write x% of their code too?

2025-02-04 forecasted high of 81F. Now that’s what I call a mild winter.

Current active keyword filters I have named:
“shitty rich-presenting white dude”
“clever nicknames increasing noise”
“libertarianism”
Named filters help me when I have filtering set so that I can see when and why a filter was applied. That way I decide for myself whether to click in. If the density of a topical filter is unusually high, I’ll check the news first because the posts will likely just be anguished screams.
Don’t need those on first coffee.

I should try it out.

Oh well, busted Apple Spotlight is a chance to try out Raycast, which is even closer to rofi than Spotlight was.
Dang but I’m looking forward to the day I’ve got enough cash to rebuild my Linux gaming desktop. Technically I could install a Linux on my MBP, but precedent-based trauma forces me to keep one device with manufacturer-provided operating system.

A minimal 256 line NANO Emacs config by the creator of the full theme / kit / whatever you want to call it.
I notice some fiddling with expression placement to make it under 256 lines, but it’s still pretty dang impressive.
NANO Emacs (minimal version 256 lines)

I know the DOGE team is young, but let’s avoid the trap of infantilizing them and thus stripping them of accountability.
They’re old enough to do federal time.
(so’s a 13-year old in some states, but that’s tangential to my main concern)
aside: destroying a country under the banner of an outdated meme is the most middle-aged Gen-X divorced darth thing ever
