#TIL macOS System Settings > Accessibility > Display > Display Contrast is a slider.

That’s way more helpful than the “increase contrast oh heck not like that” toggle I had noticed up to now.

Starting to wonder if the blurry vision I’ve been experiencing lately is more related to the Strattera than to the inevitable wear and tear of age. I think I noticed a difference before and shortly after I took morning meds.

Wouldn’t fuss (as much) except the most affected context is text on monitor, which as a big old nerd is kind of critical. Adjusting font size does not help.

(Meanwhile with the new glasses I’m counting trees on mountain tops, which is pretty cool)

I’m getting good enough at the annoying interview code questions that I have started asking my own annoying followup questions, but more plausible ones than I’ve gotten.

As in not “what if you didn’t have that standard library method,” but “what if the input was streaming?”

“Don’t have a function longer than one screen” was more helpful advice when a screen meant 80 columns x 40 rows.

I start to side-eye my functions when they’re longer than 20 lines and branches over five.

Acknowledging that I react to unsafe food and kitchen practices with sufficient vociferousness you’d think I was a rabid OSHA inspector, but before you hit me with the tranq gun just remember:

you fall down the stairs carrying too many dishes and you die and break all the dishes, we gotta be sad and mark your wake with dixie cups because we don’t have dishes anymore.
