Removing mmark has me grumbly
So the Hugo team is deprecating the mmark Markdown parser. This is an understandable decision. Providing all those options must make Hugo a challenge to maintain and improve.
Well anyways I fixed it — sort of — with some Perl.
I spent my free time wrestling with trivial site details instead of writing posts and having fun. If it was due to my own misguided experimentation, that would be fine. That happens all the time. But no. I had to convert half my site because of someone else’s decisions.
That sort of thing sticks with you.

Couple things I recently confirmed about facial hair.
There is a process of “training” in which the hairs get used to you pushing them in one direction.
Some hairs learn quicker than others.
Feeling better with oil and balm and wax and coffee.

Close enough to Christmas for the Emmett Otter drum roll outtake.
I kind of see this as proof that the current incarnation of tech*, with its keyword-driven whiteboard loving factory floor hiring model, is doomed. Course, it might take us down with it.

I have no strong opinions about the story or adaptation of Sense & Sensibility but I’m just saying if I had the means to cast myself as Luke Skywalker in an Ep 4 remake I damn well would.
It turns out the company will take whatever labor from you that you’re willing to give them. And “full stack” often translates to you doing your actual job plus a bunch of other freebies because you’re trying to get the “exposure”. Don’t do it to yourself.
