Now there’s an interesting blurb.
❝Seeing the New Year In, a picture based on the artist’s experiences at Greenwich Village parties, caused friction because of its recognizable portraits.❞

Last job: not only WFH but strong preference for no video during meetings.
Good opportunity for glitter beard experimentation.

Mildly embarrassed to admit I nearly spent $12 on a Lyft before remembering the light rail across the street could get me there — sooner — for $3.

We’re trying Basecamp Personal for household management and a) it’s off to an awesome start for usability; and b) took me about 3.5 seconds to start looking at the API.

I like the flexibility of Emacs. I like the friendliness and aesthetics of VS Code.
So naturally I’m side-eyeing Atom, but that seems suffer from being the older stepchild in the MS Github family.

@thegibson Not to pat our own backs too much, but heading into 2020 I feel better about reachable community (Fediverse + a resurgence of artisanal blogs) than I did going into 2010 (Twitter + Facebook coming up, blogs faltering, and StatusNet still looking very me-too)

@thegibson We’ve always been here. We’ll still be here when the walled gardens wilt and die from neglect. More like the weird art neighborhood than a mall, but we’re here.
We just need to remind ourselves, each other, and maybe just maybe those curious friends who wonder about life outside the faux-brutalist corporate networks.

@thegibson A couple 2019 things that make me happy (excuse me while I sift through the rest of 2019 which we will not speak of)
- Fediverse giving sufficient momentum for federated social networking to sustain conversation and community.* Folks resuscitating dormant blogs and creating all-new ones.* Seeing more “meet them where they’re at” pragmatism about the friends staying on Twitter and Facebook.

Chinese New Year is a few weeks away.
We live in the International District.
The dogs are gonna freak.
It’s gonna be awesome.

@rafial Well sure. But I already have nano for when I just want an editor. Everything from vim on up is an environment, and those are fun to compare and contrast.

@rabcyr I’m not entirely sure but other folks seem aware of the team that produced this mashup!
