I have brought Hyperbole and a Half into another person’s world so whatever else happens that much is good.

@Gina I do what I can.

OTOH this is my wife and we’ve been together a year and a half and I hadn’t shown it to her before?! Points off for that.

I just sort of assumed she knew.

Now officially using Alacritty as my terminal emulator across Linux, macOS, and Windows.

For now. This much consistency unnerves me.

@yojimbo select?

This is a terminal. You don’t select. You configure. Keep configuring until you find something that doesn’t crash or look like a naked mole rat’s posterior. Then you configure some more.

Then you give up and use the defaults.

But yeah. I like manual config (easier to put in git), but it’s an understandable frustration.

@yojimbo When I started fiddling with Alacritty config, I grabbed the latest sample from the releases page (current latest is https://github.com/alacritty/alacritty/releases/download/v0.5.0/alacritty.yml ), saved that as ~/.alacritty.yml, and then started to play.

As config goes, it’s very well documented. As documentation goes, it’s very poorly configured.

Good random conversation online with one of the better neighbors.

Plus, almost done replacing another clunky constructed ORM query with a db view.

Been a pretty good evening overall.
