Been keeping myself busy with the JavaScript static site generators. Last week’s Astro experiment got slow so I’ve been messing with Eleventy.

Using Typescript via ts-node for a utility script. Wouldn’t say that makes things easier, but it’s making it easier to figure out where I screwed up.

but hey I got eleventy-img resizing and nunjucks macros w/o pushing extra args everywhere

by splitting out a separate image manip phase, save metadata, and grab site image metadata on load for the image shortcode so that’s cool

Couldn’t use an async image shortcode because Nunjucks macros don’t support async and about 1/3 through decided I’d rather have macros than on-demand resizing for rarely changing images.

Also knocked (2nd) build time back down to 20s.
