@bjango Appreciate the alternate suggestion, but looks like ISO-8601-ish is unsupported:

So your tool remains the best choice so far!

@lordbowlich If Reddit didn’t exist, somebody would have found it necessary to invent it. Folks were already looking to overcome the complexities of ten thousand forums, and Reddit trotted along on a trail Digg laid out (which Digg made by following Fark and a couple others).

I think centralized forum / news sites were the leading edge of Web 2.0 and the trailing edge of portals maybe

Thought I’d be considerate and listen to my music on headset. Toggled headset power. Forgot that I’d been using it last night.

Briefly blasted Gogol Bordello through the house at 5am

Still can’t hold any attention in Cyberpunk 2077. Guns, car chases, deckrunning, chrome cowboys – rude dismissive gesture

#Nivalis will let you run the #Cloudpunk noodle stand? AKA the Bladerunner noodle stand, what with the look and music.

I am h*ckin’ pumped.

@Rob_T_Firefly I enjoyed Cloudpunk, but it was one where you could tell a lot more work went into the worldbuilding than the gameplay. Nivalis – same setting as the earlier game – looks like they realized worldbuilding can be a game too.

hackers.town: 2023-06-12 Mon 07:03

@Rob_T_Firefly I can recommend it, with the disclaimer already given + another about voxel people which has been addressed in the new game. But good lord the gorgeous voxel art and Vangelis-style soundtrack.

There are only a few timed challenges, so sometimes between deliveries I’d just drive to some neighborhood, walk around, and take in the scenery.

@socketwench @c0debabe That’s why I go with a /follow page, to provide at least a little explanatory context.

Used to have FB and Twitter links as well, but those got phased out as the sites became less useful.

Less than 30% phone battery with maybe an hour until a nurse calls my name. Better mix a little shoe gazing into my wait.

@kusuriya appreciate the thought! I should be fine though. If the phone gives out I’ve got my internal dialogue to entertain me.

Been nearly a week of trying Logseq Sync and it hasn’t crapped out on me yet.

hackers.town: 2023-06-12 Mon 12:00

@junebug No there must be an alternative!

hackers.town: 2023-06-12 Mon 15:41

Search engines are useless. Windows is bundling Internet features few asked for. The major public sites are sealed tight to deny third party tools.

Web 1.0 is back, baby!

@rysiek @ArneBab can’t talk

hackers.town: 2023-06-12 Mon 15:52

time to bring back cgi-bin

hackers.town: 2023-06-12 Mon 15:55

@kusuriya and maybe _why

because I could see a streamlined ActivityPub implementation as an evolution of the tumblelog

She prefers a wireless setup. I don’t trust wireless. Well, I don’t trust wires either but at least I can keep an eye on them. Chop’em up if they misbehave.

Anyways, waited until @IamMrsGeek left the room before I threw down another 40’ of Cat 6.

Because love.

hackers.town: 2023-06-12 Mon 18:53

@toxtethogrady that’s the gist of it yep!

hackers.town: 2023-06-12 Mon 19:07

@synec @ceejbot well that’s like resurrecting chickens

hackers.town: 2023-06-12 Mon 19:23

@siderea @toxtethogrady Fair point. IoT was its own thing. I just filed Web 2.0 and IoT in the same “Internet of Shit” folder without differentiating notes. Oops!

hackers.town: 2023-06-12 Mon 19:38

@thegibson Indeed. A raw deal for everyone, since that safety’s not exactly guaranteed.

The risk vectors are refreshingly different though.
