Going down the list of JavaScript SSGs and most I’ve tried have a degree of fiddliness that makes Hugo look like Jekyll.

The options seem to be: learn you some funky syntax (that’s Hugo) or install 50 plugins — and learn you some funky syntax (that’s JS).

So far in my JS SSG stroll, Eleventy’s been most pleasant for just plain building a site, and despite a lot of rough edges Astro’s been most fun for a component style.

Windows 11 horked so bad it stopped seeing my second monitor and wants me to factory reset the video card.

So I rebooted into Linux where everything’s fine. I’ll deal with Windows later. Eventually.

@obsolete29 Explicitly. Tried special purpose blogs years back and I’d always mix topics and neglect blogs. These days it’s just one site with whatever I want to brain dump.

This mess is what a hard-earned success looks like. Astro sees and builds all ~600 content files from my blog.

Well enough to list them at least.

So that’s 80% of the work done. Now for the next 80%.

Haven’t felt like messing with my dotfiles yet on the newest Manjaro KDE install. Using Kate for the quick edits and you know what Kate is a pretty darn good editor.

“show us a code sample that you’re proud of”

That meeting’s in four hours, cool.

Wait no that meeting’s in two minutes! oh god oh god!

Oh hang on that meeting’s not for another hour.

And of course the cat climbed into my lap 15 minutes in and stayed there for the next hour and a half.

Got bored wrestling with GraphQL for my weird Django API browser idea and not know if the problem’s me, Gridsome, or GraphQL.

Having better luck with Nuxt.

It’s not useful yet, but I’m beginning to see where it could be after I finish sorting through the Parso stuff and start playing with UX.

I give myself the weirdest homework.

Parse modules in the Python Django library with Parso, generating JSON files that can be consumed by Gridsome via GraphQL, once I set a schema.

Why?

Uh. It sounded like fun?

A snarky t-shirt, but — when read without a sardonic sneer — a concise summary of how my ADHD manifests itself most often.

Trying to jot down as much of an impractical unproductive awesome idea as I can before this meeting starts and I’m compelled to put work at the top of my brain.
