Trying Vivaldi as my default browser again. Felt a little memory hungry on Windows, but for whatever reason that’s not the case on my Linux install.

Narrowly won a fight against the urge to write this utility script in Perl. It’s for work, after all. They mostly expect Python from me.

Got tired of Ubuntu and Brew arguing about libraries so the Linux partition’s back to Manjaro so I don’t have to pretend I know what I’m doing because clearly no.

Only been using Linux 25 years. Total noob.

Another pairing day with the intern. Today’s highlight:

“All that work and the fix was one word?”

This is the closest I’ve been to ‘happy’ with my site since before I admitted it was a blog.

Permissions and timezones infect every token of project code. That’s not inherently bad, but it does mean “add this bit of trivia to that string” is way more work than it sounds on the surface.

Oh, you’re tagging all that “AI research computer vision blah blah”

IT’S A FILTER LIBRARY, YOU WINDBAGS.

Which is great and all, but now I gotta wait however long for another chance at game time.
