Tonight’s bedtime #drawing was loosening up with some shading practice. Make some squiggly lines with a pencil, then blend them.
Wow. Just — wow.
Teams Web interface started ringing for a call. That I’d already missed. Because it didn’t ring. Half an hour ago.
Then it did it again. Reloaded the tab. Been quiet so far.
On one hand, I’ve averaged 30 tickets a week the last month. Well, Notion/Taskwarrior tasks tagged and filed for work stuff, because the ticketing system is slow and I’m the only one who looked at it. Anyways — very productive.
OTOH it’s 3:30am and I’m just winding down.
@veer66 Python is good & I enjoy each version more, but my most common errors don’t get caught until run-time because of how Python handles code.
As my site deployment gets ever more complex one bit at a time I occasionally wonder why I don’t just use Wordpress.
So the company that owns the databases I don’t use and the language I avoid now owns the social platform I never bothered joining.

Not for the first and certainly not for the last time, I find myself wishing Python had actual types rather than a handful of external libraries providing polite suggestions if you run them.
Heck even Perl can tell the difference between “a thing” and “some things” out of the box.
@Mnemonic Well yeah. When it gets to references, Perl assumes you know what you’re doing and waits until runtime.
I can’t recall ever experiencing this particular mix of having accomplished so much and feeling so far behind.

Usually focus on the pleasant, friendly, conflict-avoidant aspects of my self but I’m a whole person. Sometimes it feels good to be the crotchety old man I’ve also been since childhood.

@yojimbo Understood! I’m sort of all over the map when it comes to product. Always using it, but sometimes I just make my own for the heck of it.
