@Macross It’s really no wonder she’s with me. How could anyone resist such overwhelming charm?

@Macross It’s really no wonder she’s with me. How could anyone resist such overwhelming charm?
Another windy day another power outage in Federal Way.
@WuMargaret nope just Tuesday news. @IamMrsGeek and I killed a few minutes by figuring out the most recent neighborhood outage. XFinity, a week ago.
Making some progress with Denote for notes – feels less magic than org-roam, which helps when learning is my goal – in an otherwise painfully vanilla #Emacs setup.
@josh it was the icon of corporate tech, so of course I hated it at the time. Along with anything else that hinted at reasonableness or popularity.
But the no-code projects and services out there have reminded me that Visual Basic had good reason to be popular. The more I learn about code, the less I think normal people should be required to bother with it.
Got an idea for some Org file fun. Org::Parser is fresher than the other non-Elisp Org parsers I found, so looks like this fun will be had in #Perl!
Coming up for air to mention that App::OrgUtils provides CLI utilities for exactly the kind of file fun I had in mind for today.
so exciting i can almost play #EliteDangerous on Linux. Probably just need to fiddle with system settings related to Nvidia, which honestly means waiting for a sufficient supply of sporks (spork theory it’s like spoon theory but for neurodivergent wiring)
Shuffle play being creepily appropriate for my night with four hours of sleep in three chunks.

@danhon @billseitz I’m still trying to catch that “I have no idea what use this is but it’s fun” of Wave with all my many knowledge management tools.
@thomasfuchs I find myself reassured about the apocalyptic career doomsday scenarios after taking into account who has been telling them.
new note on random geekery:
Cory Doctorow on the split appeal of tech

@mwl @thegibson “Spandex: it’s a privilege not a right.”
@ovid of all the frameworks to dominate front-end — why’d it have to be React?
Oh well. I guess it’s inevitable that I’ll spend some time learning it as well.
Original plan for this #drawing was to add the ink layer and clear out the pencil layer, but I kinda like the contrasting overlay. #LineaSketch doesn’t need fancy layer blends if I stay alert for happy accidents.
@tk I had no intention of trying it, and am enjoying this video that validates my choice.
Github’s CEO posting on LinkedIn about deeper integration of Copilot features on GH:
With AI available at every step, we can fundamentally redefine developer productivity…by reducing boilerplate and manual tasks, making complex work easier across the entire developer lifecycle.
Because code generation fed by corporate surveillance interpreting common practice is easier than learning how to write sustainable code.
Playing some yacht rock mix and Benny Mardones “Into the Night” opens with “‘She’s just 16 years old. Leave her alone’ they say” and you know I got curious. The song was 1980, he was born in 1946, so 1980 - 1946 is —
@hardison thank you! I will drink my coffee and apply today.
has anyone trained a huntsman spider to play fetch
@WuMargaret I agree!
@brohrer I could see that.
I WROTE A COVER LETTER
i hope somebody reads it
XFinity outage reminding me why local-first notes are a good thing.
@bitprophet I’ve been seeing folks do Notion-style dashboards with Obsidian Canvas and Dataview. It all sounds needlessly complex and therefore I must try it.
@mikaeleiman I got this 🤏 close to committing to Tana yesterday and I’m so glad I got distracted by a shiny thing instead.
