Figure I complain enough about most PKMs in the context of dev notes. Org+Emacs is still best there, with Dendron+VS Code in second at some distance but getting better. Todo Tree integration is a nice touch.

Glad she’s into my taters.

Looked up a minor Logseq nit — the heading toggle changed in context menu — yay there’s a bug report yay there’s a PR.

Allergies. Fun times.

Pasted a photo of the thing I was looking for into my notes, so I would remember I was looking for a thing and what it looked like.

It helped.

Reacting aggressively to notifications, so I’m turning sound off on them for the moment so I don’t accidentally throw my computer out the window.

@dch now now let’s not be rude to everyone’s favorite short bus editor. VS Code did the thing and we’re all very proud.

Casually referencing when I imported a few (thousand) files into Obsidian and that other time I used Robot Framework to export from a crappy Web app.

Suddenly recall a 2002 Microsoft interview where they said I’m too much of a hacker and I’d be bored.

ok maybe

Best brush-off I ever got TBH.

hackers.town: 2022-10-07 Fri 10:52

Anyways yeah we are in a good enough situation that we can do the funds vs time math, so: new video card tomorrow. That way I don’t need a bunch of maybe-hacks to play with Stable Diffusion or PyTorch.

Loud Dog woke me up at 4:30 this morning. Course, I didn’t fall asleep until 12:30. Mind you, if I was one of those folks who could go back to sleep promptly, it wouldn’t be so bad.

Having an Arthur Dent moment here where the image produced by my prompt was almost but not quite entirely unlike my prompt.

screenshot of stable diffusion web ui; prompt: “Waterhouse painting of the world’s most interesting octopus drinking a microbrew at a nice sidewalk cafe in Seattle during a late summer afternoon”; image: A woman reminiscent of Waterhouse paintings, holding a dark beer, near an unattended IPA at a bar on maybe a covered porch; background is a non-specific city waterfront with an octopus maybe
