I’ll decide later what, if anything, remains to be done on this #drawing.

Floral symmetry drawing

hackers.town: 2020-01-04 Sat 10:19

@ella_kane Thank you! It’s still in my geometric symmetric niche, but I’m trying new things within that niche.

hackers.town: 2020-01-04 Sat 10:34

@ella_kane took some mental work to stay away from my tendency toward detail. But tired me couldn’t add anything without taking away from the drawing. Neither can morning me.

@ella_kane :blobblush: at 300dpi it would only be a six inch square, but I went with simple lines for an experiment in converting to vector for larger versions.

@lilithsaintcrow 🎵 and yeah I know he’s a pretty good read, but God who’d want to be such an asshole

@lilithsaintcrow Absolutely. When folks talk about separating the art from the artist, I think of Bukowski.

For a certain caliber of artist, to separate them from their art is to miss the point.

If you can separate an artist from their art — if their life and their work say such different things — I think that puts them on a lower rung.

@lilithsaintcrow (while still bold faced and double underlined that I would never want to meet the great and terrible artists who produce great and terrible art.

Some sad twangy pop on the mix and it’s not that I hate twangy but that was no “lonesome howl of the white trash wolf” (per the Nixon/Biafra rule)

hackers.town: 2020-01-04 Sat 16:33

and now of course i had to change the mix

The coworker making little slack emojis for everyone is cute and also makes it real easy for me to sign the error messages I know I caused.

in this year of our lord 19120

@jefposk

Apparently a non-trivial number of systems are experiencing #Y2020 bugs. A common Y2K “fix” just postponed things by 20 years, interpreting 00-19 as the 2000s and 20-99 as the 1900s. 20 years is now up, some of those systems are still in use, and they think it’s 1920. Oooops.
