Bouncy Dog has no bounce due to a hurt leg, and will be spending most of the day in a baby sling wrapped around me. I don’t think he’ll mind.

Sudden urge to dust off my Pi4 and set up Taskwarrior sync. A task which shouldn’t take more than half the day.
Ah yes I have an interview in 20 minutes. That tracks for my brain.

@boris Relevant to my interests, as I look at my PKM toolbox and go “what if this, but native?”

The defenses in I’m confused what’s with the project descriptions at httpspkgx.devpkgs · Issue 5358 · pkgxdevpantry · GitHub got me worried.
“it would have been hard to write descriptions and add images to every single package…AI-based image and description generation might be the easiest and probably also the best for everyone approach.”
It’s like “aliens built the pyramids” except “AI built the package manager.” People are coming in without any understanding of community or organizational structure and deciding that instead of ropes and pulleys and a whole lot of human cooperation, they’re gonna use magic space aliens AI.

Hm. Maintaining the blog and brain in #Logseq could work, with a little massaging by plugins like logseq-page-tags-and-hierarchy and logseq-plugin-short-namespaces
The hierarchy view for posts would be pretty darn long with every post in it.

logseq-page-tags-and-hierarchy adds a breadcrumb trail for pages in namespaces, which is much easier to deal with than Logseq’s default of SHOW THE WHOLE PATH AND NOTHING BUT THE WHOLE PATH EVERY TIME

There’s the whole late capitalism aspect of generative AI, but also? I feel it’s some kind of apocalypse indicator that tech money has given up on clean structures, quality code, useful documentation, accessibility, etc.

Fiddling about with aWindows Dev Drive. Thought I’d see if it makes any difference building my site. 10 runs each on a warmed-up build (image processing already done)
Yes, but not much. OTOH it’s expected to have a bigger impact dealing with things like package caches. You know, like node_modules with twelve million files.
I may fiddle more in the name of mad science, but I doubt any use case will reach WSL or Linux native.

Got some minor productivity done in Linux, thought I’d reboot and try again on the Windows Dev Home thing. Better. Nothing to do with default browser, just Windows being Windows.
Incidentally, WingetUI is pretty sweet. Wonder if I can get its widgets working, or at least showing better error messages.

@grmpyprogrammer My first paid job was restaurant stuff: dishwasher, busboy, janitor.
The eventual transition to dev was pretty seamless, though it took me a couple years to admit the similarities. Thought i didn’t want to be a maintenance dev, but that’s all there is after oh say a week at best.
