Whatever my beefs with technical and metacultural aspects of Mastodon etc, it works great for them.

Yesterday’s word of the day was “techno-optimism.” Both the word and my abortive reading of the venture capitalist’s manifesto reminded me of David F. Noble’s The Religion of Technology.

I read that 2000 or so. No idea if it still holds up, but back then it sprayed a fine cooling mist on my own technological utopianism.

Dinner tonight was seared NY steak with spicy (because of rice vinegar and some jalapeños) cucumber, celery, and cilantro salad.

@WuMargaret soaked in a dressing, and that made a difference for sure: rice vinegar, sesame oil, brown sugar (I used stevia for family blood sugar reasons) and salt.

Learning #microStudio for a little casual fun. Straightforward IDE for Web games, with asset editing and a mostly-Lua scripting language.

Course, asset editing means pixel art and animation frames, so all sorts of learning going on.

@mjgardner @stevestreza It’s the starfish problem. Might not matter in the big picture, but it makes a difference to me when I’m sitting in front of a KDE desktop and get a more consistent experience than on the Windows partition.
