BRB the cats have decided our election notes are their new playground. Specifically, Barry’s.
okay anyways interesting podcast episode.
If your ears are tired: the show held a mock election at San Quentin, along with interview-based polling. When totals were tallied (mock victor: Harris), results correlated with demographics of population at large.
Dogs staring at you intently and cats wandering around curiously, as seen from the vantage point of the toilet seat.

Was talking about Real Genius with a Gen-Z household member last night. This morning looking for a clip to share with them (girl’s gotta have her standards? maybe) and found this, which other old nerds may enjoy.
A few hours every few months makes for a slow learning curve. This morning I tried inserter filters for the first time and was like “oh yes this is much easier.”

Seems unfortunate that even though hearing in one ear is both significantly impaired and overwhelmed by tinnitus these days, the other ear is still hyper-sensitive to little noises like cats grooming.
Upgrading MBP to Sequoia. Watching a 6GB file download in a minute.
First off: yeesh (but still maybe 5% the size of a AAA game)

Three minutes in and I felt a deep abiding kinship with this person.
How? Is it a smell? A hidden dashboard panel? Do I give off subsonic “after an entire morning trying to direct his thoughts he’s finally getting into a groove let’s do that vaguely scheduled thing now!” alerts?
It’s kind of weird to me how often I switch keyboard form factors (and / or text editors) based on what mood my hands are in. Bouncing between the split keyboard and the standard, between VS Code, Vim, Emacs.
Sometimes these muscle memory pathways are easier. Sometimes it’s those over there.
That seems weird.

@jda Glad it’s not just me – or that it is just me – or something.
There’s a pattern that’s weird to me: when I finally get a decent amount of rest my brain often feels slightly more wonky? Like it’s trying to make this a recovery day.
Alas, no.
Anyways good morning!
