@VE2UWY I wouldn’t have become aware of it until the early to mid-80s, and didn’t hear it with any frequency until the early 90s.

Currently have the ridiculously wide monitor doing picture-by-picture split from two devices. The window in each device is a full screen terminal, each multiplexed via tmux.
Gosh it’s sure nice to step away from work, trying to sort my way through dashboards explaining interacting systems, resources available vs resources in use, stuff like that. I can sit and play video games and hey wait a minute
#FactoryTownIdle#FediGames
Dashboard for the idle clicker game Factory Town Idle, showing generation and consumption of town resources like “stone brick,” “wool,” “refined plank,” and so on.
“an investigation by Retail Dive found that the [National Retail Federation]’s annual theft analysis was based on a misinterpretation of its own data.”
@mhd If I got it right, this is an Israeli company’s usage of unknown data to support and enforce a dubious assertion made by a US org about its own cooked numbers.
No improvement from Jack since getting him home from the vet (he hasn’t been throwing up which is good, but he also hasn’t been eating, drinking, or moving around much, which is not good) so @IamMrsGeek is taking him in again for more fluids and next tier of examinations.
The vet-provided cat food must be really unappetizing. Jack doesn’t want to eat it and Barry doesn’t want to steal it.

Whole lot of big and little stressors right now, so wound up pretty tight. Taking the gamble that ADHD meds will cut down on mental background noise, but better not go full capacity on the caffeine.
(poor sleep + meds + stress + lots of coffee often make a bad combo for me)
A thing worth mentioning about this internal alarm of mine: it doesn’t go “oh we are now sufficiently rested that we may as well get up.” No no. It goes “YOU HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WAKE UP GET UP FIRE FLOOD BAD FRENCH FRIES GET OUT OF BED AND FIX IT ALL”
@tek with a family tree full of petty criminals and eccentric artists, at least I know I’m staying true to tradition.

Fun with #ADHD questionnaires
“How often do you feel restless or fidgety?”
I don’t feel figety. See, I have a system. I just fidget.

So apparently in #Factorio when you misalign your smelter feed by one tile, you don’t have to start a whole new game. You can just work around it and maybe fix it later.
@JoYo@mjd@thegibson my issue was more the span of 1999-2002 where every station seemingly flipped to playlists of mostly Limp Bizkit and bands that kinda sounded like them.
That was tiresome.
So I think of that more than the genre itself.

@JoYo@mjd@thegibson oh god.
I was a young adult in The Puget Sound region for grunge.
It wasn’t until 2005 or so that I could go “yeah Nirvana was good and heck I guess Pearljam is too.”
@seatek nah, just a lot of fried batter things make me queasy.

@maddiefuzz@tek Can’t wait to find out whether any of my devices fail to acknowledge that we live in Arizona now.

@tek@maddiefuzz Nah there’s just the one time vortex. As long as you stay away from, don’t look directly at, and don’t catch the attention of the time vortex, you’re UTC-7.
