Whenever somebody butchers my last name and I provide a quick correction, they usually apologize.

I’m a huge fan of using tangentially appropriate phrasing, but not when it comes to user-facing documentation and warnings.
(also, this should be info-level logging at this point, maybe even debug level. and if it genuinely is a notably bad thing, after this many years it should panic with an error)
Trying to at least steer it towards Org mode. Taskwarrior is more challenging now that the big sync hosts have shut down and 3.0 has made self-hosted sync more confusing.
